El hombre sanado Ruta

The healed paralytic walks through the gathered crowd carrying the rolled mat that once held him in helplessness. Jesus stands in the doorway behind him, surrounded by witnesses, while men watch from the rooftop where the sufferer was lowered before the Lord. The open courtyard, attentive onlookers, and astonished faces place the moment immediately after Christ’s command: “Rise, pick up your bed and go home.”

The artwork draws from the Gospel accounts in Mark 2, Luke 5, and Matthew 9, where Jesus heals a paralyzed man and reveals His authority not only over sickness, but over sin. The carried bed becomes the visible sign of complete restoration: what once carried the man is now carried by him. This image serves teaching on faith, forgiveness, healing, the Son of Man’s authority, and the witness of a transformed life.
