22 Uno de aquellos días subió Jesús con sus discípulos a una barca y les dijo: –Pasemos a la otra orilla del lago. Y comenzaron la travesía.23 Mientras navegaban, Jesús se durmió. Entonces una tempestad se desató sobre el lago, y la barca empezó a hundirse, con el consiguiente peligro de naufragio.24 Los discípulos se le acercaron y lo despertaron, diciendo: –¡Maestro, maestro, nos hundimos! Jesús se levantó y ordenó calmarse al viento y al oleaje; éstos amainaron y el lago quedó en calma.25 Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: –¿Dónde quedó su fe? Y llenos de miedo y asombro se decían unos a otros: –¿Quién es éste que manda incluso a los vientos y al agua, y lo obedecen?

35 Aquel mismo día, al caer la tarde, les dijo: –Pasemos a la otra orilla.36 Ellos dejaron a la gente y lo llevaron en la barca, tal como estaba. Otras barcas lo acompañaban.37 Se levantó entonces una fuerte tempestad y las olas entraban en la barca, de manera que la barca estaba ya hundiéndose.38 Jesús estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre el cabezal, y lo despertaron, diciéndole: –Maestro ¿no te importa que nos hundamos?39 El se levantó, ordenó calmarse al viento y dijo al lago: –¡Cállate! ¡Enmudece! El viento amainó y sobrevino una gran calma.40 Y a ellos les dijo: –¿Por qué son tan cobardes? ¿Todavía no tienen fe?41 Ellos se llenaron de un gran temor y se decían unos a otros: –¿Quién es éste, que hasta el viento y el lago lo obedecen?

18 Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side.19 And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”21 Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”22 And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him.24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep.25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.”26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.27 And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
