22 After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing.23 John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized

14 Pero Juan trataba de impedírselo diciendo: –Soy yo quien necesito que tú me bautices, y ¿y tú vienes a mí?15 Jesús le respondió: –Olvida eso ahora; pues conviene que cumplamos lo que Dios ha dispuesto. Entonces Juan accedió.16 Apenas fue bautizado, Jesús salió del agua y, en ese momento se abrieron los cielos y vio al Espíritu de Dios que bajaba como una paloma y descendía sobre él.
