18 Precisamente porque él mismo fue sometido al sufrimiento y a la prueba, puede socorrer ahora a los que están bajo la prueba.

15 Pues no es él un sumo sacerdote incapaz de compadecerse de nuestras flaquezas, sino que ha sido probado en todo como nosotros excepto en el pecado.
Luke 4
1 Jesús regresó del Jordán lleno del Espíritu Santo. El Espíritu lo condujo al desierto,2 donde el diablo lo puso a prueba durante cuarenta días. En todos esos días no comió nada, y al final sintió hambre.3 El diablo le dijo entonces: –Si eres Hijo de Dios, di a esta piedra que se convierta en pan.4 Jesús le respondió: –Está escrito: No sólo de pan vive el hombre.5 Lo llevó después el diablo a un lugar alto y le mostró, en un instante, todos los reinos de la tierra.6 El diablo le dijo: –Te daré todo el poder de estos reinos y su gloria, porque a mí me lo han dado y a quien yo quiera se lo puedo dar.7 Si te postras ante mí, todo será tuyo.8 Jesús respondió: –Está escrito: Adorarás al Señor tu Dios, y sólo a él darás culto.9 Entonces lo llevó a Jerusalén, lo puso en la parte más alta del templo y le dijo: –Si eres Hijo de Dios, tírate desde aquí;10 porque está escrito: Dará órdenes a sus ángeles para que te protejan;11 te llevarán en brazos y tu pie no tropezará en piedra alguna.12 Jesús le respondió: –Está dicho: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.13 Cuando terminó de poner a prueba a Jesús, el diablo se alejó de él hasta el momento oportuno.

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’”11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.
