7 En cuanto a los cielos y la tierra de ahora, la misma divina palabra los tiene reservados para el fuego, conservándolos hasta el día del juicio y de la destrucción de los hombres pecadores.

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter.2 Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.3 And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.4 The first was like a lion and had eagles' wings. Then as I looked its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and the mind of a man was given to it.5 And behold, another beast, a second one, like a bear. It was raised up on one side. It had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was told, ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’6 After this I looked, and behold, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back. And the beast had four heads, and dominion was given to it.7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what was left with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.8 I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.9 “As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire.10 A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.11 “I looked then because of the sound of the great words that the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was killed, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.12 As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.13 “I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.15 “As for me, Daniel, my spirit within me was anxious, and the visions of my head alarmed me.16 I approached one of those who stood there and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of the things.17 ‘These four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth.18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’19 “Then I desired to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the rest, exceedingly terrifying, with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze, and which devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what was left with its feet,20 and about the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn that came up and before which three of them fell, the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and that seemed greater than its companions.21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them,22 until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom.23 “Thus he said: ‘As for the fourth beast, there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all the kingdoms, and it shall devour the whole earth, and trample it down, and break it to pieces.24 As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings.25 He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.26 But the court shall sit in judgment, and his dominion shall be taken away, to be consumed and destroyed to the end.27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them.’28 “Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly alarmed me, and my color changed, but I kept the matter in my heart.”

23 Por otra parte, mientras que los otros sacerdotes fueron muchos, porque la muerte les impedía perdurar,24 éste, en cambio, como permanece para siempre, posee un sacerdocio que no pasará.25 Y por eso también puede perpetuamente salvar a los que por medio de él se acercan a Dios, ya que está siempre vivo para interceder por ellos.26 Tal es, en efecto, el sumo sacerdote que nos hacía falta: santo, inocente, sin mancha, separado de los pecadores y elevado por encima de los cielos.27 El no tiene necesidad, como los sumos sacerdotes, de ofrecer cada día sacrificios por sus propios pecados antes de ofrecerlos por los del pueblo, porque esto lo hizo de una vez para siempre ofreciéndose a sí mismo.28 Y es que la ley constituye sumos sacerdotes a hombres frágiles, pero la palabra del juramento, que es posterior a la ley, constituye sumo sacerdote al Hijo, a quien Dios hizo perfecto para siempre.
Hebrews 8
1 Esto es lo más importante de lo que estamos diciendo: que tenemos un sumo sacerdote que se sentó en los cielos a la derecha del trono de Dios,2 como ministro del santuario y de la verdadera tienda de la presencia levantada por el Señor, y no por un hombre.

1 Y vi subir del mar una bestia que tenía diez cuernos y siete cabezas, con una diadema en cada cuerno y un título blasfemo en cada cabeza.2 La bestia que vi se parecía a una pantera; tenía patas como de oso y fauces como de león. El dragón le dio su fuerza, su trono y su inmenso poder.3 Una de sus cabezas parecía haber sido herida de muerte, pero su herida mortal estaba ya curada. La tierra entera corría fascinada tras la bestia.4 Entonces adoraron al dragón, porque había dado su poder a la bestia, y adoraron también a la bestia, diciendo: –¿Quién hay como la bestia? ¿Quién es capaz de luchar contra ella?5 Se le dio autorización para proferir palabras orgullosas y blasfemas, y poder para actuar durante cuarenta y dos meses.6 Y así lo hizo: profirió blasfemias contra Dios, contra su nombre, contra su santuario y contra los que habitan en el cielo.7 También se le concedió hacer la guerra a los creyentes y vencerlos; y se le otorgó poder sobre las gentes de toda raza, pueblo, lengua y nación.8 Y la adorarán todos los habitantes de la tierra, a excepción de aquellos que desde la creación del mundo están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero degollado.9 Quien tenga oídos, que escuche esto:10 El que tenga que ser deportado, será deportado. El que tenga que morir a espada, a espada morirá. ¡Ha llegado la hora de poner a prueba la paciencia y la fe de los creyentes!11 Vi otra bestia que surgía de la tierra: tenía dos cuernos como de chivo y hablaba como un dragón.12 Ejercía todo el poder de la primera bestia en favor de ella, haciendo que la tierra y todos sus habitantes adoraran a la primera bestia, aquella cuya herida mortal había sido curada.13 Hacía grandes prodigios, hasta el punto de hacer bajar fuego del cielo sobre la tierra a la vista de los hombres.14 Seducía también a los habitantes de la tierra con los prodigios que se le había otorgado realizar en favor de la primera bestia, y los incitaba a levantar una imagen en honor de la bestia que sobrevivió a la herida de la espada.15 Se le concedió dar vida a la imagen de la bestia, de modo que incluso pudiera hablar, y se le dio poder de dar muerte a cuantos no adoraran la imagen de la bestia.16 Hizo también que todos, chicos y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos llevaran tatuada una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente.17 Y sólo quien llevaba tatuado el nombre de la bestia o la cifra de su nombre podía comprar o vender.18 ¿Quién se las da de sabio? El que presuma de inteligente vea si puede descifrar el número de la bestia, que es número humano; es el seiscientos sesenta y seis.

6 Y vi otro ángel que volaba por lo más alto del cielo. Traía la eterna buena noticia para anunciársela a todos los habitantes de la tierra y a todas las naciones, razas, lenguas y pueblos.7 Decía con fuerte voz: –Teman a Dios y denle gloria, porque ha llegado la hora de su juicio. Adoren al que hizo el cielo, la tierra, el mar y los manantiales de agua.8 Un segundo ángel lo seguía, diciendo: –Cayó, cayó la orgullosa Babilonia, la que emborrachó a todos los pueblos con el vino de su desenfrenada lujuria.9 Y un tercer ángel seguía a los dos anteriores diciendo con fuerte voz: –Si alguno adora a la bestia y a su imagen y recibe su marca en la frente o en la mano,10 tendrá que beber el vino de la ira de Dios derramado sin mezcla en la copa de su cólera, y será atormentado con fuego y azufre en presencia de los santos ángeles y del Cordero.11 Será eterno su tormento; no tendrán respiro ni de día ni de noche los adoradores de la bestia y de su imagen, y quienes se han dejado marcar con su nombre.12 Aquí se pone a prueba la constancia de los creyentes, de aquellos que cumplen los mandamientos de Dios y son fieles a Jesús.
